About the Competitive sports
The aim of competitive sport at the HU Berlin is to enable students and employees to take part in regional, national and international competitions and tournaments. In principle, teams as well as individual starters can be sent to competitions.
In addition to sending students and employees, the HU Berlin sometimes organizes competitions (e.g. German university championships, Berlin university championships) or organizes its own popular sports-oriented tournaments. The ZEH is the organizer of the university leagues beach volleyball (summer semester) and soccer - indoor (semester by semester).
At the end of the semester, end-of-semester tournaments are held in more and more sports. Course participants can implement the skills they have learned from the course in a tournament.
In addition to the classic tournaments and competitions, other tournament formats from the field of e-sports also take place. In 2022 the HU Berlin organized the first "League of Legends" university championship.
