Fees
There are no course flat rates. Our price structure is based on the costs of putting the course (resources and staff), and is also staggered by students and staff, HU alumni, and former/external individuals. Basically, the courses can be offered at lower prices than those from commercial providers. The fee covers the entire course. If payment is not received before the deadline given upon registration, then the booking will be cancelled. You will be informed by email in this case. You will not receive a reminder! Your place will be released and you can re-register. Any money transferred too late will not be repaid, and you cannot rebook on another course. However, you can join the waiting list for another place on the course.
Trial sessions
Unfortunately there are no opportunities to try out courses. Only people who have registered can participate in Sport and Recreation activities.
Alternative dates
If we are forced to cancel a course, for example if the course leader is ill, we will try to find a replacement. If we are unsuccessful, the Sport and Recreation team and the course leader will always endeavour to offer an alternative date. Unfortunately this is not always possible.
Your course leader will inform you if a replacement date is being offered.
Health insurance billing
Health insurance schemes will not cover the entire costs of a course, but in some cases will offer a discount. There is also a bonus booklet that we can stamp, but this does not apply to all courses. For this reason, please ask your health insurance scheme in advance.
The Sport and Recreation programmes offered are not considered prevention courses as described in section 20 SGB V.
Waiting list
If a course is fully booked, you can join the ‘waiting list’ by providing your email address and registering for Sport and Recreation’s notification service. As soon as a place becomes free on your chosen course, everyone on the waiting list will be informed by email at the same time. The person, which books first, will receive the free place.
Course leader contact
For data protection reasons, the email addresses of course leaders cannot be given out to participants. To contact a course leader, please email hochschulsport@hu-berlin.de. It will be forwarded to the relevant coach.
Sports partner exchange
The Sport and Recreation website has a sports partner exchange where you can find a dance partner or team member, or view requests from other athletes.
